Week 6 Discussion: Exotic Places

There are so many amazing places in the world. This week your task is to choose an amazing place that you'd love to travel to and tell us a little bit about it in your own words. Here's the catch though - it has to be somewhere unusual, unique or not well known (no Australia or America here!).

Here's mine as an example:

I'd love to travel to the Tianzi Mountains in Zhangjiajie in the Hunan Province in China. These mountains are extremely unique because the are shaped like tall spires of rock - not at all like traditional mountains. They actually look a lot like something out of Avatar. The mountains' name, Tianzi, means son of heaven and is named in honour of a Chinese ruler who lived over 800 years ago.

Discussion Week 5: Lego Bridge

In Wuppertal, Germany, local artists have decorated a bridge - Lego style! Read the article here and the provide a response in the comments. Use the question below to guide your response - but don't just answer the question - write it into a sentence like we've been practising in class.

What do you think of the bridge? Is it a worthwhile project or are there better things the money could have been spent on?
Do you think the City Council should invest money in projects like this? Or is it the responsibility of communities to fundraise such initiatives?

Sustainable Futures

This week in Module C we watched the video Sorry (see below). This helped us to connect to the wider issue of sustainability and how what we do will affect our future generations.

Sorry Video

What was your response to this video? How did it affect you? Why did you feel this? Write a response to the video. It could be about your reaction, or it could be a poetic response, or a video response.
